Scottish Scones

2 C. flour

3 TB Sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1 TB baking powder

1/4 t. baking soda

1/3 C. butter

1 egg, slightly beaten

1/2 C buttermilk

Mix together the dry ingredients and cut in the butter till fine.  Mix the egg and milk together and add to the flour mixture.  Quickly bring the mixture together with your hands and take half the batter and flatten to 1" thick disc on lightly floured board.  Cut into 6 wedges and repeat.

Bake at 375 for 12 to 15 min.
